Ali, ti presento Ava. Due mondi diversi che si incontrano nella realtà di Bradford, città industriale nel cuore dello Yorkshire. Ali gestisce degli appartamenti e vive un matrimonio segnato da un dolore. Ava è una maestra elementare. Si incontrano e riempiono le rispettive esistenze sfidando le convenzioni e gli ostacoli che trovano lungo una strada fatta di romanticismo, canzoni cantate a squarciagola e passione. Ali & Ava, presentato alla Quinzaine des Realisateurs del Festival di Cannes 2021, completa la trilogia dello Yorkshire dell’acclamata regista Clio Barnard, una commedia che parla d’amore attraverso il potere rigenerante della musica.
