L'ultimo agguato (1955)
Edward Shaw e' un agente immobiliare che ha subito un tracollo dell'attivita'. Il giovane chiede aiuto ad un avvocato che lo indirizza presso un cliente disposto ad investire mezzo milione di dollari nella sua societa'. Il finanziatore e' la ricca e seducente Doris Hillman ; tra la donna e Shaw e' subito attrazione. Doris e' sposata con l'anziano Gus Hillman , che ha finanziato l'attivita' immobiliare, stipulando oltretutto una forte polizza di assicurazione sulla vita di Edward, in modo da proteggersi da eventuali rischi. Edward inizialmente non accetta queste condizioni, ma Doris riesce a fargli cambiare idea.
