Agathe dirige una prestigiosa fondazione per l'arte contemporanea, vive col marito editore e il figlio in un appartamento di 200 metri quadri nel centro di Parigi, è snob, sarcastica, spesso insopportabile. Patrick è il padre del miglior amico del figlio di Agathe, sbarca il lunario con lavoretti da muratore, è un alcolizzato e ha una vera e propria fissazione per il sesso e i seni voluminosi. Agathe e Patrick non potrebbero essere più lontani, ma dal momento del loro incontro le vite di entrambi cambiano radicalmente.
