Il drago del lago di fuoco (1981)
Una ragazza affronta un lungo viaggio per incontrare il vecchio mago Ulrich, ultimo depositario degli arcani segreti della magia, e lo prega di adoperare le sue conoscenze per liberare il suo paese dall'incubo di un terribile drago. Il re Cassiodoro infatti, non avendo il coraggio di affrontarlo offre periodicamente in sacrificio al mostro una fanciulla vergine estratta a sorte, per placare la fame di devastazione dell’orrenda creatura. Ulrich accetta, ma viene ucciso prima di intraprendere il viaggio. Il suo giovane apprendista, Galen, raccoglie l'eredità del maestro ed affronta il drago a più riprese. Non ottiene che insuccessi continui, scatenando anche una devastante rappresaglia da parte del mostro. La figlia del re intanto scopre che il padre, in tutti questi anni, l'aveva esclusa dal sorteggio (assieme a tutte le figlie di nobili e raccomandati di corte) e si offre come prossima vittima del drago. Spetterà a Galen sconfiggere definitivamente il mostro.
