Una casalinga di periferia e un medico, entrambi sposati, s'incontrano in una stazione, s'innamorano ma, alla soglia dell'adulterio, rinunciano. Dall'atto unico di N. Coward Still Life. Uno dei più celebrati e sopravvalutati strappalacrime del cinema mondiale. Impeccabile, comunque, per atmosfera, recitazione, uso del concerto di Rachmaninoff, nettezza di particolari.
