La famiglia di Jessica possiede da sempre la Roberts Tree Farm and Nursery, il negozio di alberi di Natale di maggior successo nella zona di Hudson Spring, pittoresca cittadina turistica del New England. Quest'anno, però per la prima volta c'è la minaccia della concorrenza: arriva in città Clay Moore, che apre la filiale di un grande negozio di giardinaggio e si appresta a mettere i bastoni fra le ruote a Jessica. Non fosse che, nonostante la competizione, i due cominciano a provare dei sentimenti l'uno per l'altra.
