Un predicatore nero di campagna racconta le storie del Vecchio Testamento ai bambini che frequentano la scuola domenicale. Per permettere loro di ricordarle meglio, fa in modo di cambiare tutti i personaggi rendendoli neri e di usare termini di facile comprensione, passando in rassegna capitoli come la Creazione, l'Arca di Noè e la fuga dall'Egitto guidata da Mosè.
