David Hemmings (18 novembre 1941 – 3 dicembre 2003) è stato un attore, regista e produttore britannico, diventato uno dei volti simbolo del cinema inglese degli anni Sessanta grazie al suo ruolo in Blow-Up di Michelangelo Antonioni. Prima di dedicarsi completamente alla recitazione, si fece conoscere come soprano bambino, interpretando opere del compositore Benjamin Britten. Dopo i primi ruoli cinematografici, raggiunse la fama internazionale con Blow-Up (1966), nel quale interpretò un fotografo londinese coinvolto in un mistero. Successivamente recitò in film come Camelot (1967), Barbarella (1968) e La carica dei seicento (1968). Nel 1975 interpretò il pianista Marc Daly in Profondo rosso di Dario Argento, uno dei suoi ruoli più celebri per il pubblico italiano. Negli anni successivi si dedicò anche alla regia, dirigendo film come Gigolò (1978), con David Bowie, e numerosi episodi di serie televisive, tra cui A-Team, Magnum, P.I. e Airwolf. Tornò a ottenere grande visibilità come attore interpretando il senatore Cassio ne Il gladiatore (2000) di Ridley Scott. Tra le sue ultime apparizioni figura anche Gangs of New York (2002) di Martin Scorsese. Morì nel 2003 a Bucarest, durante le riprese di un film, all'età di 62 anni.
