Talk Radio (1988)
Barry Champlain werkt bij het radiostation van Dallas. In de nachtelijke uren zweept hij zijn luisteraars op met praatjes over controversiële onderwerpen en lokt heftige discussies uit. Hij wordt zowel verguisd als aanbeden. Wanneer hij de kans krijgt om de lokale zender te verruilen voor een zender met nationale dekking, staat hij voor een keerpunt in zijn carrière. Tegelijkertijd stapelen de problemen zich echter op: met zijn ex-vrouw, met de nieuwe radiozender die de inhoud van zijn show wil veranderen, met zijn luisteraars die hij soms tot wanhoopsdaden drijft met zijn opruiende woorden en, tot slot, met een neo-nazi groep die hem bedreigt.
