Homecoming (1948)
De egocentrische dokter Lee Johnson meldt zich tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog aan bij de medische dienst van het leger, meer uit gevoel dat het "het ding is om te doen" dan uit diepgeworteld patriottisme. Op zijn eerste dag wordt hij op zijn plek gezet door 'Snapshot', een pittige en aantrekkelijke verpleegster. Hun aanvankelijke vijandigheid bloeit uit tot een romance. Lee wordt vervolgens verscheurd door schuldgevoel omdat hij zijn vrouw Penny, die thuis op hem wacht, ontrouw is geweest.
