Under Suspicion (2000)
De ervaren inspecteur Victor Benezet vraagt zijn oude vriend Henry Hearst naar het politiekantoor te komen om opheldering te brengen in het onderzoek naar een moordzaak. Hearst, een gerespecteerd advocaat, voelt daar weinig voor omdat hij verwacht wordt op een liefdadigheidsbal. Benezet dringt echter aan. Aanvankelijk lijkt het om een routinezaak te gaan, maar al gauw blijkt dat Hearsts verklaring over hoe hij het lijk van een gewurgd meisje vond, onwaarheden bevat. Bovendien kunnen Benezet en zijn jonge collega Owens de advocaat linken aan een andere moord op een jong meisje. Het gesprek wordt een ondervraging en naarmate Hearst zijn verklaring verandert en er steeds meer bizarre details uit zijn privé-leven komen bovendrijven, raakt Benezet ervan overtuigd dat zijn vriend een kindermoordenaar is...
