The Set (1970)
Paul Lawrence is een man uit de arbeidersklasse die een relatie heeft met Cara, overhemden verkoopt in een warenhuis in Sydney en ervan droomt naar de kunstacademie te gaan. Cara vertrekt naar Londen en Paul wordt de protegé van ontwerpster Marie Rosefield. Hierdoor komt hij in de 'set' terecht, de wereld van de Sydneyse kunsten. Rosefield is bevriend met Mark Broniski, een kunstenaar die Paul de opdracht geeft een decor te ontwerpen voor de Britse toneelregisseur John L. Fredericks. Paul wordt geholpen door kunststudent Tony Brown, die een relatie heeft met Pauls nicht, Kim Sylvester. Paul en Tony beginnen een homoseksuele affaire. Kims moeder Peggy heeft een affaire met Broniski.
