The Zodiac (2005)
"De twaalf tekens van het kwaad". In December 1968 worden twee tieners op beestachtige wijze vermoord. Sergeant Matt Parish wordt op de zaak gezet. Hoewel er weinig aanknopingspunten zijn, wordt de druk om de dader te vinden door de plaatselijke pers opgevoerd. Zes maanden later worden er weer twee jonge mensen vermoord. Dan gebeurt het ondenkbare: binnen een uur na de moord krijgt de politie een telefoontje met een bekentenis van beide moorden. Tevens ontvangt de krant een brief met een bekentenis. In deze brief zit een cryptogram. De oplossing onthuld de identiteit van de moordenaar! Matt stort zich volledig op de zaak en verdiept zich in de codes, cijfers, compositie tekeningen, psychologische daderprofielen en bizarre astrologische patronen. Na een volgende dubbele moord op klaarlichte dag denkt Matt de beruchte 'Zodiac Killer' op het spoor te zitten.
