Tender Is the Night (1962)
Tegen de raad van zijn vrienden in trouwt psychiater Dick Diver met Nicole Warren, een mooie maar onstabiele jonge vrouw uit een welgestelde familie. Volledig in vervoering, geeft hij zijn carrière in de geneeskunde op voor een leven als playboy, totdat Dick op een dag gecharmeerd wordt door Rosemary Hoyt, een Amerikaan op reis. De gedachte dat Dick zich mogelijk tot iemand anders aangetrokken voelt, stuurt Nicole in een emotionele neerwaartse spiraal die hen beiden dreigt te verteren.
