The Dead Past (1965)
De chronoscoop is een apparaat dat oude fotonen analyseert om een blik te werpen op elke gebeurtenis in het verre verleden van de aarde. Historicus Arnold Potterley krijgt echter geen toestemming om de chronoscoop te gebruiken voor zijn onderzoek naar het oude Carthago. Daarom geeft hij opdracht tot de bouw van een eigen tijdkijkmachine.
