Nadat ze haar job in het katholieke onderwijssysteem verloor, heeft een transgender vrouw een diepgaande impact op het leven van twee kinderen – één met twee vaders in huwelijksproblemen, en de ander een recente transplantatie uit een conservatief gezin. Wanneer de kinderen een unieke band vormen, komen nieuwe vragen en oude vooroordelen naar boven.
