Tribute (1980)
Een Broadway-publicist besluit, zodra hij hoort dat hij aan een ongeneeslijke ziekte lijdt, dichter bij zijn zoon te komen, die na de scheiding bij zijn moeder bleef. De botsing tussen tegengestelde karakters is onvermijdelijk: Scottie Templeton blijft het leven niet al te serieus nemen, ook al heeft hij nog maar weinig leven, terwijl Jud daarentegen helemaal niet geneigd is tot grappen en zorgeloze attitudes. Schermutselingen en gekibbel lopen door de hele film heen, die eindigt met het overwinnen van misverstanden en met een laatste liefdevolle omhelzing tussen vader en zoon tijdens een avond die door Scottie's vrienden ter ere van hem wordt georganiseerd.
