Argentinië is een land met een uitgebreide en gevarieerde filmcultuur. Binnen deze enorme diversiteit bevindt zich een zeldzame, atypische… bizarre cinema. Bizarrofilia onderzoekt de oorsprong en betekenis van het woord ‘bizar’, hoe de tijd leidt tot herinterpretaties van sommige werken, en richt zich op de hedendaagse productie van films die zich willen distantiëren van elke mimetische weergave van de werkelijkheid… hoewel in Argentinië de werkelijkheid altijd de fictie overstijgt.
