Frida (2002)
Het bewogen leven van de Mexicaanse schilderes Frida Kahlo. Op jonge leeftijd raakte ze verminkt bij een busongeval, maar ze kanaliseerde haar lichamelijke pijn en de emotionele frustratie van haar stormachtige huwelijk met de beroemde muralist Diego Rivera in een magistraal oeuvre van kleurrijke en provocerende doeken. Ze beleefde ook heel intens de politieke, artistieke en seksuele revoluties van haar tijd. Frida Kahlo en haar echtgenoot Diego Rivera, werden de meest geprezen kunstenaars uit de Mexicaanse geschiedenis.
