A Novel Romance (2011)
Nate Shepherd, eind veertig, en Jenny Sparks, begin dertig, ontmoeten elkaar in een chique eetcafé in New York. Volkomen vreemden die een rotdag hebben gehad, wachtend op hun betere helft, onthullen aan elkaar dat ze vanavond nieuwe mensen gaan ontmoeten. Ze beseffen al snel dat ze op elkaar wachten. Wanneer Nate zijn vriendin verliest (nadat hij is ontslagen uit zijn gemakkelijke baan bij een reclamebureau) en Jenny haar vriend verliest aan een overdosis drugs, stelt Nate's vriendin voor dat ze als vrienden moeten gaan samenwonen om de huur te delen en elkaars pijn te verzachten. Naarmate hun vriendschap uitgroeit tot iets meer, wordt hun relatie een liefdevolle maar gecompliceerde ervaring.
