The Painted Veil (2006)
1922, Shanghai. Als bacterioloog Walter ontdekt dat zijn vrouw Kitty hem bedriegt, besluit hij uit wraak een positie te accepteren in een afgelegen gebied in China, waar cholera heerst. Kitty heeft geen andere keus dan hem te volgen. Gaandeweg komt Kitty er achter dat haar man een minder harde kant heeft dan ze dacht. Dan slaat het noodlot toe....
