Julie is een jonge vrouw uit Rose Hill die op het platteland van Zwitserland aankomt om te trouwen met haar oudere penvriend Marcel. Ze voelt zich ongelukkig totdat ze Jean, een jongere man, ontmoet. Zijn vader is het daar echter niet mee eens.
