Giovanna d'Arco al rogo (1954)
Jeanne d'Arc wordt levend verbrand wegens ketterij. In een soort droomtoestand verlaat ze haar lichaam en begint ze terug te blikken op haar leven. Ze begint deze reis in een depressieve en gedemoraliseerde toestand. Een priester verschijnt echter om haar te helpen en te begeleiden. Eerst toont hij haar degenen die haar beschuldigden in de gedaante van dieren, om haar hun ware aard te laten zien. Vervolgens toont hij haar het goede dat ze voor de mensen heeft gedaan. Uiteindelijk is ze trots op wat ze heeft gedaan en klaar om de vlammen onder ogen te zien.
