Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972)
Caesar, een kleine chimpansee, groeit op in de beschermde wereld van het circus. Zijn ouders werden gedood omdat ze te veel menselijke trekken hadden. Op een dag neemt de circuseigenaar Caesar weg uit zijn vertrouwde omgeving en toont hij hem de echte wereld. Caesar ziet hoe zijn soortgenoten als slaven behandeld worden en vooral dom gehouden worden.
