Flight of the Butterflies is een onderling verbonden wetenschappelijk avonturenverhaal dat niet alleen duizenden kilometers, maar ook generaties overspant. Het gaat over de opmerkelijke monarchvlindermigratie, de meest ongelooflijke migratie op aarde en de vastberaden wetenschapper die 40 jaar lang probeerde te ontdekken waar de vlinders op mysterieuze wijze verdwenen toen ze voor de winter naar het zuiden vlogen.
