Bright Lights, Big City (1988)
Jamie Conway is een ambitieuze beginnende schrijver die het plattenland van Kansas inruilt voor de indrukwekkende skyline van Manhattan en het verleidelijke maar slopende nachtleven dat achter deze façade schuilgaat. Omdat de sociale regels van de schrijverscène dat voorschrijven en hij zijn netwerk uit wil breiden stort Jamie zich in de wilde wereld van uitzinnige feesten en drugs. Hij wordt voortdurend gedwongen zijn grenzen te verleggen en betaalt daarvoor een hoge prijs. Als hij echter zijn grenzen overschrijdt komt hij er al snel achter dat hij daarmee alles kwijtraakt...ook degene die hij liefheeft.
