El Norte (1983)
Enkele Maya-boeren in Guatemala hebben genoeg van hun leven dat wordt uitgebuit. Hun opstandje wordt hard in de kiem gesmoord door het leger. Een broer en zus weten de massamoord te ontvluchten. Zij trekken naar 'het beloofde land', namelijk Los Angeles.
