The Whole Wide World (1996)
De jonge Novalyne Price is een onderwijzeres in een dropje is Texas, ergens in de jaren '30. In de avonduren schrijft zij over het simpele boerenleven in Texas en droomt ervan om door te breken met heer verhalen. Dan ontmoet ze op een dag de beroemde pulp schrijver Robert Howard. Deze man schrijft voor zijn geld en is de geestelijk vader van 'Conan the Barbarian' en 'Red Sonja'. In eerste instantie zijn de twee als water en vuur, discussiërend over het leven en elkaars kijk op het schrijversvak. Maar langzamerhand begint zich een band te vormen. Zij wordt zijn muze en hij haar ware liefde...
