Porgy and Bess (1959)
Porgy is een kreupele man die leeft in het desolate stadje Catfish Row. Hij is verliefd op Bess, een mooie maar drugsverslaafde vrouw. Bess wordt desalniettemin door meerdere mannen geadoreerd, waaronder Crown, een domme kracht, die een andere vriend van Bess vermoord.
