Jezebel (1938)
Het speelt zich af in periode voor de Amerikaanse Burgeroorlog. De onrustzaaiende, onconventionele Bette waagt het in een rode jurk op het bal te verschijnen. Gewoonlijk dragen ongehuwde vrouwen witte jurk op het bal. Maar zoveel assertiviteit wordt niet op prijs gesteld. De verloofde (Henry Fonda) keert zich ook tegen haar.
