Hostile Waters (1997)
Half de jaren '80. President Reagan en zijn Russische collega Gorbatchov plannen een top in IJsland met als doel de relatie tussen beide grootmachten te verbeteren. Net op dat moment botst een Russische nucleaire onderzeeër nabij de kust van Bermuda met een Amerikaanse duikboot. De Russen maken zich zorgen om de opgelopen averij en het niet meer onder controle hebben van de nucleaire wapens die zich aan boord bevinden. De Amerikanen vrezen de vernietiging van enkele grote Amerikaanse steden omwille van de defecte Russische atoomwapens en achten dat het ongelukkige voorval het moeizame vredesproces tussen Reagan en Gorbatchov des te meer op de helling zet. Beide kapiteins gaan echter niet meteen aankloppen bij hun president.
