Circle of Friends (1995)
Benny en Eve verlaten hun geboortedorp Knockglen en gaan studeren aan de universiteit van Dublin. Een vroegere vriendin, Nan, brengt ze in contact met Jack Foley, de aanvoerder van het rugbyteam en lokale meisjesmagneet. Tussen Jack en Benny groeit een bijzondere vriendschap die overvloeit in liefde. Jack vindt in Benny een soulmate - niet de zoveelste knappe stoot, maar iemand waarmee hij al pratend eindeloos lange wandelingen kan maken. Voor Benny is Jack uniek: ze houdt van hem, maar die liefdesgevoelens worden thuis de kop ingedrukt door haar ouders, die een kleine kledingzaak runnen en een huwelijk willen regelen tussen hun dochter en de boekhouder.
