Gold Is Where You Find It (1938)
Na de Californische goudkoortsperiode begon de rivaliteit tussen boeren en mijnwerkers in de Sacramento Valley. Kolonel Chris Ferris , een rijke boer, is fel gekant tegen hydraulische mijnbouw, een nieuwe methode die in de jaren 1970 werd ontwikkeld, tijdens de goudkoorts, omdat het de meest welvarende landbouwgrond van de regio overspoelt. Ondanks het standpunt van Ferris raakt Jared Whitney, een mijningenieur uit het Oosten, niet alleen bevriend met de zoon van de kolonel , maar wordt hij ook verliefd op Serena, de mooie dochter van De Ferris.
