Powaqqatsi (1988)
Powaqqatsi: Leven in transformatie, is een Amerikaanse documentaire film uit 1988 geregisseerd door Godfrey Reggio en het vervolg op Reggio’s experimentele film uit 1982, Koyaanisqatsi. Het is de tweede film in de Qatsi trilogie. Powaqqatsi is een Hopi woord voor "parasitaire manier van leven" of "leven in overgang". Terwijl Koyaanisqatsi gericht is op het moderne leven in de geïndustrialiseerde landen, is de film Powaqqatsi, die ook geen dialoog heeft, gericht op het conflict in derde wereldlanden tussen traditionele manieren van leven en de nieuwe manieren van leven geïntroduceerd met industrialisatie.
