Slaughterhouse-Five (1972)
Billy Pilgrim, een veteraan uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog, komt op mysterieuze wijze los van de tijd, zodat hij, zonder dat hij er iets aan kan doen, kan reizen van de dagen van zijn jeugd naar die van zijn eigenaardige leven op een verre planeet genaamd Tralfamadore, waarbij hij zijn bittere ervaring als krijgsgevangene in de Duitse stad Dresden doorloopt, waarover de onvermijdelijke schaduw van een onuitsprekelijke tragedie opdoemt.
