The Twelve Chairs (1970)
De schoonmoeder van Ippolit Vorobyaninov (Ron Moody) vertelt hem op haar sterfbed, dat zij, vlak voor de revolutie, haar kostbare juwelen heeft verstopt in één van haar twaalf eetkamerstoelen. Ostap Bender (Frank Langella) ontfutselt Vorobyaninov dit geheim en begint samen met hem aan een zoektocht naar de stoelen, die na de revolutie staatseigendom werden en toen zijn verdwenen. Ondertussen is echter ook pater Fyodor (Dom DeLuise), die het geheim tijdens het toedienen van het laatste sacrament is te weten gekomen, op zoek naar de schat.
