Zijn 'Isle Of Wight'-concert, dat op deze schijf wordt gepresenteerd, bevat veel van Jimi's beste materiaal, ondersteund door zijn 'Experience'-band, met Billy Cox op bas en Mitch Mitchell op drums. 'Freedom', 'Voodoo Chile', 'All Along The Watchtower', 'Red House' en 'Machine Gun' zijn slechts enkele van de hoogtepunten op deze schijf. Tijdens dit beruchte concert speelde Jimi ook 'New Rising Sun' en 'Lover Man', die beide om de een of andere reden helaas ontbreken op deze opname.
