The Island of Dr. Moreau (1977)
Andrew Braddock lijdt schipbreuk midden op zee. Na dagen zwerven in een roeiboot, spoelt hij samen met een andere overlevende aan op een onbekend eiland. Dit eiland blijkt toe te behoren aan de wetenschapper Dr. Paul Moreau. Moreau verwelkomt Braddock als gast, maar heeft eigenlijk andere plannen met hem. Braddock ontdekt dat er vreemde dingen aan de hand zijn met de andere bewoners van het eiland. Op het eerste zicht blijken het mensen te zijn, maar de realiteit is helemaal anders en angstaanjagend. The Island of Dr. Moreau is één van de meest beroemde boekverfilmingen van de schrijver H.G. Wells. Zijn verhalen 'War of the Worlds', 'The Time Machine' en 'The Invisible Man' werden allemaal verfilmd en waren stuk voor stuk Hollywood klassiekers.
