The Pit and the Pendulum (1961)
Francis Barnard gaat naar Spanje als hij hoort dat zijn zuster Elizabeth is overleden. Haar echtgenoot, Nicholas Medina, de zoon van de ergste martelaar van de Spaanse inquisitie, vertelt hem dat zij is overleden aan een bloedziekte, maar Francis vindt dit moeilijk om te geloven.
