Krush Groove (1985)
Semi-autobiografisch verhaal over Def Jam oprichter Russell Simmons, in de film Russell Walker genoemd. Op zijn label Krush Groove contracteert hij al het jonge talent van de straat. Wanneer één van zijn acts (Run DMC) een hit scoort wordt het tijd de zaken wat groter op te zetten. Russell heeft echter geen geld zoveel platen te drukken en leent het van een drugdealer annex woekeraar Jay. Het terugbetalen wordt alleen een probleempje... Tegelijkertijd vallen Russell en zijn broertje Run voor dezelfde dame (Sheila E.)
