De pas getrouwde Rebecca verlaat het Elzasser bed van haar man op haar kostbare motorfiets - symbool van vrijheid en ontsnapping - om haar geliefde in Heidelberg te bezoeken. Onderweg geeft ze zich over aan psychedelische mijmeringen terwijl ze haar veranderende relatie met de twee mannen herbeleeft.
