Bright Star (2009)
Londen 1818. De 23-jarige Fanny Brawne is een eigenzinnige en gepassioneerde modeontwerpster en kleermaakster. Haar buurman is de beloftevolle jonge dichter John Keats. De twee lopen niet hoog met elkaar op. John vindt Fanny frivool en oninteressant en Fanny heeft niets met poëzie. Maar wanneer Johns jongere broer ernstig ziek wordt, probeert Fanny de familie zo veel mogelijk te helpen. Uit dankbaarheid neemt John de moeite om Fanny in te wijden in de poëzie. Van het een komt het ander: John en Fanny zien elkaars kwaliteiten nu wel en worden smoorverliefd. Ze willen gaan trouwen, maar Johns literaire compagnon, Mr. Brown, vindt Fanny te oppervlakkig en probeert hun huwelijk te dwarsbomen. Tot overmaat van ramp wordt John ernstig ziek.
