Len Lye heeft zijn films meestal met grote zorg getimed om bij de soundtracks te passen, maar voor All Souls Carnival werkten hij en componist Henry Brant afzonderlijk, waarbij hij er de voorkeur aan gaf om te zien of de partituur en het visuele nummer toevallig zouden synchroniseren. Lye experimenteerde ook met een nieuwe Direct Film-techniek, waarbij de filmstrip werd doordrenkt met kleurrijke verf en markeerstift.
