Captains of the Clouds (1942)
In 1939 verdienden in het noorden van Ontario (Canada) Johnny Dutton, 'Tiny' Murphy, 'Blimp' Lebec en 'Scrounger' Harris, piloten in de burgerluchtvaart, de kost door met hun kleine apparaten regionale commerciële vluchten uit te voeren. Er verschijnt een nieuwe piloot, Brian MacLean, die eerst hun concurrent is voordat hij met hen samenwerkt. Maar wanneer Brian trouwt met Emily Foster, Johnny's jonge verloofde, kiest Johnny ervoor om te verdwijnen. In 1940, met het uitbreken van de Tweede Wereldoorlog, meldden 'Tiny', 'Blimp', 'Scrounger' en Brian zich vrijwillig aan bij de Royal Canadian Air Force, waar ze vanwege hun leeftijd werden toegewezen aan instructeursposities. Op de luchttrainingsbasis ontmoeten ze hun superieur, niemand minder dan Johnny...
