The Black Widow (1947)
The Daily Clarion huurt detectiveverhaalschrijver Steve Colt in om de dood te onderzoeken van een groep wetenschappers die werken aan een ontwikkelingsproject voor atoomraketten. Achter de moorden zit waarzegster Sombra, een spion uit een Aziatisch land die uit is op wereldheerschappij, die vastbesloten is de atoomraket te stelen door arbeiders van het project naar haar woonkamer te lokken en ze te doden met zwarte weduwe-spinnengif als ze weigeren mee te werken.
