Lina Inverse en haar sidekick Naga the Serpent genieten vrolijk van de lunch wanneer de hele stad onder dekking duikt voor een invasie van Marlene Culvert en haar legioen bloeddorstige draken. De oorzaak van de invasie? Marlene heeft ruzie met haar vader, de koning, over haar toelage. Lina komt in actie om het dorp te verdedigen tegen Marlene, haar viertal ridders en haar draken, maar haar betrouwbare Draken slaaf-spreuk laat haar in de steek. Net als ze denkt dat ze gewonnen heeft, is de echte strijd net begonnen.
