De New Yorkse rechercheur Mike Santini geniet van een vakantie met zijn gezin als hij Eddie Meyers ziet, een voortvluchtige voor justitie, die mogelijk de kroongetuige is in een spraakmakende zaak over het witwassen van geld. Santini speelt een belangrijke rol bij het gevangennemen van Meyers, wat de sluwe crimineel ertoe aanzet Santini te vragen als ondervrager. De twee nemen elkaar in de verhoorkamer onder de loep in een thriller die voor een aantal onverwachte wendingen zorgt.
