Despair (1978)
Berlijn, jaren '30, tijdens de opkomst van het nazisme. Hermann Hermann, een Russische emigrant en chocoladefabrikant, getrouwd met de wispelturige Lydia, raakt steeds meer de weg kwijt in zijn relaties met zijn arbeiders en andere zakenlieden, totdat hij Felix ontmoet, een zwerver die er lichamelijk identiek uitziet als hij, wat verontrustend is en Hermann Hermann ertoe brengt een bijzondere uitweg te plannen uit een nepwereld die hij echt haat.
