William "Frank" Cavanaugh is een top voetbalcoach die zijn carrière opgaf om deel te nemen aan de Eerste Wereldoorlog, waar hij een held werd. Na de oorlog ging hij terug naar het coachen, waar hij uiteindelijk een van de beste resultaten behaalde in de voetbal geschiedenis.
