Het verhaal van de in Tasmanië geboren acteur Errol Flynn wiens korte en flamboyante leven, vol schandalen, avonturen, liefdes en excessen, zich grotendeels voor de camera afspeelde - bij het maken van films of het vullen van de journaals en roddelbladen. Tragisch genoeg was hij op zijn vijftigste al dood aan de gevolgen van drugs en alcohol, en de mythen leven voort. Maar er is een andere kant van Flynn die minder bekend is: zijn ambities om een serieuze schrijver en krantencorrespondent te worden, zijn documentaires en zijn interesse in de Spaanse Burgeroorlog en Castro’s Cuba.
